Salary Range: $55k-$60k DOE
Department Description
MAM’s Resale Store was established in 1983 as a core aspect of its programming. The store generates critical funding—up to 50% of annual revenue—for MAM client services. It also serves as a distribution site for essential items provided at no cost to clients through voucher programs. Additionally, the store partners with the City of Houston and Harris County to provide Community Service Worker (CSW) placements.
Job Summary
The Warehouse Manager leads the day-to-day operations of the warehouse through a highly visible, hands-on leadership approach. This position works alongside staff and volunteers, providing real-time guidance, support, and supervision to ensure operations run efficiently and safely.
The Warehouse Manager is ultimately responsible for all donation and warehouse operations, ensuring consistent execution and operational excellence through the oversight, coaching, and direction of supervisors and team members supporting these functions.
This role also plays a key part in ensuring that every donor interaction reflects MAM’s mission, with donations and donors treated with dignity, respect, and appreciation.
Key Accountabilities
Hands-On Leadership & Team Development
· Lead by example by working side-by-side with staff and volunteers in daily warehouse operations
· Provide real-time coaching, direction, and support to ensure work is completed effectively and efficiently
· Supervise, train, and develop warehouse staff and supervisors.
· Foster a team environment where staff feel supported, accountable, and valued
· Manage performance, provide feedback, and address concerns proactively
· Ensure staff and volunteers are properly trained and set up for success
· Reinforce expectations around professionalism, teamwork, and customer service
Warehouse Operations & Workflow Execution
· Maintain active oversight of all warehouse functions including donation receiving, sorting, pricing, quality control, and merchandise flow
· Ensure a consistent pipeline of high-quality merchandise to the retail store
· Monitor workflow in real time and adjust staffing or priorities as needed
· Maximize warehouse space utilization and organization
· Ensure merchandise is prepared for retail needs and volunteer events
· Maintain compliance with safety standards, including fire code and workplace safety practices
Donor Experience & Representation of MAM
· Oversee the Donations area to ensure a welcoming and respectful donor experience
· Reinforce expectations that all donors and donations are treated with dignity and appreciation
· Model strong customer service behaviors and hold staff accountable to those standards
· Address donor concerns professionally and timely
Collaboration & Process Improvement
· Partner with the VP of Operations to develop and refine warehouse processes, systems, and procedures
· Support the implementation of operational improvements and new initiatives
· Serve as a liaison between the warehouse and retail store to align inventory with sales needs
· Communicate updates, priorities, and operational changes clearly to staff and volunteers
Scheduling, Communication & Accountability
· Develop and manage staff schedules to meet operational needs
· Ensure effective communication across all warehouse team members
· Lead regular team meetings, huddles, and check-ins
· Ensure staff attend required meetings, trainings, and organizational initiatives
· Hold team members accountable for attendance, performance expectations, and policy compliance
· Collaborate with HR on payroll, PTO, and employee-related matters
Qualifications
· Commitment to MAM’s mission
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
· Prior experience in resale, retail stockroom, or warehouse operations
· Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience
· Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to work with diverse populations, including volunteers and Community Service Workers
· Ability to work independently while maintaining strong team alignment
· Reliable smartphone access for timekeeping and communication
Physical Demands
· Regularly required to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse
· Frequent use of hands to handle, sort, and move items
· Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
· Ability to remain active and engaged on the warehouse floor for extended periods

Working Conditions / Environment
· Primary work location is a warehouse environment with both indoor and outdoor exposure
· Regular work outside in varying weather conditions
· Occasional travel as needed
· Must maintain reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and required auto insurance

The Warehouse Manager may perform additional duties as needed, including supporting other operational areas during peak periods or staffing shortages.
