Title: Resale Associate – Donations

Employment Status: Part-Time, Non-exempt

Wages: $13-$14 an hour DOE

Impact Statement:

Resale Associates play a vital role in creating a welcoming and positive shopping experience for all

customers at the MAM Resale Shop. Their work directly supports MAM’s mission by helping

generate up to 50% of the store’s revenue, which funds essential community programs. In addition,

the store serves as a distribution center for no-cost items provided to clients enrolled in MAM’s

service programs, using vouchers to obtain the clothing and household goods they need to rebuild

their lives.

Responsibilities / Duties:

Assists with receiving, sorting, and organizing donations in the warehouse
Loads and unloads donated items from donor vehicles and MAM transport vehicles
Supports warehouse operations including inventory movement, backstock organization, and
donation flow to the sales floor
Maintains cleanliness and organization of donation intake and storage areas
Demonstrate ability to work with people from all walks of life and treat everyone with dignity
and respect.
Has reliable transportation to and from work (personal or public)
Creates a customer-focused environment working with our customers, clients, and donors
Assists customers with questions on the sales floor
Operates the cash register to process customers at the check-out
Professional oral and written communication
Ability to collaborate with co-workers, volunteers, and Community Service Workers

Qualifications:

Ability to work with a diverse variety of people, including volunteers and those working
community service, coworkers, managers, and customers
Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish (read, write, speak, and understand) to communicate with
our customers, clients, and donors
Demonstrates flexibility in ability to work an altered work schedule as required to include
evenings or weekends
Experience with resale, thrift, or warehouse tasks
Demonstrated accuracy on cash register and related duties
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
Ability to work without direct supervision
Reliable use of a smartphone

Education and Experience:

Required - High school or GED graduate; will utilize math and reading/writing skills
Two + years experience in a retail stockroom

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to stand for long periods, walk, and sit for extended periods
Regularly uses dexterity to operate cash register keys, keyboard, and doors. Works with
merchandise, tools, or controls, and reaches with hands and arms
Must be able to hear and communicate verbally with customers and co-workers
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds without assistance and heavier items with
assistance
Works primarily indoors, but regularly works outdoors in all seasons

Working Conditions / Work Environment:

Primary work location is a climate-controlled resale store, but regularly requires working
outside in a variety of weather conditions such as cold, rainy, heat, etc.
Provide own reliable transportation with proof of valid driver’s license and TX minimum
requirements of auto insurance

Remote Working Conditions / Work Environment:

Primary work location at MAM. Under specific conditions, such as if the shop is closed due

to issues such as weather or pandemic conditions, this position may perform certain duties

remotely. These tasks will be discussed and determined at the time to meet business needs.
