Reports to:  Vice President of Operations

Employment Status: Full-time, non-exempt

Pay Range: $14-$15 per hour

 

Department Description:

MAM’s Resale Store provides critical funding for client programs and serves as a resource for families in need. The store offers affordable, quality merchandise and distributes no-cost items to clients enrolled in service programs. Volunteers and staff work together to create an organized, welcoming shopping experience.

 

Job Summary: 

The Sorter/Pricer ensures donated items are properly sorted, priced, and prepared for volunteers to hang and place on the sales floor. This role requires familiarity with name brands and current fashion trends to price items based on resale value. The position also supports other departments as needed to maintain smooth store operations.

 

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Sort donations by category, quality, and condition.

  • Price items accurately based on brand, style, and resale value.

  • Prepare sorted and priced merchandise for volunteers to hang and move to the sales floor.

  • Maintain a clean and organized sorting area throughout the day.

  • Communicate with team leaders and floor managers regarding inventory needs.

  • Train new volunteers and assist Community Service Workers in sorting and pricing processes.

  • Assist in the distribution of items to appropriate departments.

  • Provide flexibility by working in other areas of the store as needed and weekends

  • Work with Volunteer team to coordinate tasks for volunteer groups

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support store operations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to MAM’s mission.

  • Strong knowledge of designer brands, popular labels, and current fashion trends (or willingness to learn quickly).

  • Previous retail or resale experience preferred.

  • Ability to identify items in good condition versus those for disposal.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers and staff from diverse backgrounds.

  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.

 

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and stand for extended periods

  • Regularly required to talk or hear

  • Regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk, sit, use keyboard, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms

  • Required to remain at their workstation for prolonged periods of time

  • Regularly required to work from a ladder as needed

Working Conditions/ Work Environment:

Primary work location is a climate-controlled warehouse, with occasional work outdoors in varying weather. Flexibility to assist other departments as needed. Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
