Position Title: Citizenship Coordinator
Department: Immigration Legal Services
Reports to: Director of the Immigration Legal Services Program
Employment Status: Full-time, Exempt
Position Summary: The Citizenship Coordinator helps the program find qualified applicants who are ready to apply for citizenship and naturalization. This is done by attending outreaches, talking at local schools and congregations, and creating relationships with the local community to increase awareness of our services. This position will have a flexible work schedule as it requires work on the weekends and after normal work hours.
Duties and Responsibility
Developing, implementing and overseeing outreach projects to enhance the organizations visibility and community engagement.
Strategizing outreach efforts, coordinating events, and managing communications,
Developing and presenting citizenship information sessions to provide information to prospective clients and assist in scheduling consultations.
Responsible for creating and building relationships with other service providers and the local community to help find volunteers for the citizenship clinics.
Stays up to date on changes within all MAM client programs and works closely with staff of other departments to increase bundling of services.
Monitors the programs general voicemail line, including returning calls, scheduling consultation appointments, and giving referrals.
Answer/return client calls and provide updates on their cases, in consultation with your supervisor.
Participates in MAM citizenship clinics by preparing citizenship applications under the legal supervision of the accredited representative to be filed with USCIS.
Consistently follows all record keeping policies, procedures, and standards to ensure that all client information is protected from unauthorized or unintended release.
Attend immigration-related conferences, meetings, and trainings as needed.
Practice open and constructive communication with co-workers, supervisor, and clients, contribute ideas or suggestions to help better the program.
Perform all duties as assigned by the Director of the Immigration Program
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (such as a combination of relevant education and relevant work experience)
Experience in public speaking.
English and Spanish fluency (read, write, speak, and understand).
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
Excellent verbal and written communication and client advocacy skills.
Strong organizational skills, ability to manage deadlines, and other tasks simultaneously.
Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, and email.
Demonstrates a high level of emotional intelligence and ability to adjust one's own approach to accommodate the needs of others.
Demonstrated ability to work with people from all walks of life and treat them with dignity and respect, to listen empathetically and provide options for relief.
Flexibility to work in the evening and/or on weekends

Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, use keyboard, and remain at their workstation for prolonged periods of time. Required to have the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Working Conditions/ Work Environment:
The primary work location is a climate-controlled indoor office environment. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Provides own transportation with proof of valid driver’s license and TX minimum requirements of auto insurance.
Remote Work Opportunity: This position qualifies for at home remote work as permitted by the Director and the availability of remote work. It is expected that the Citizenship Coordinator will be available to work in the office and offsite at various functions 75% of the time or more when needed. Additional remote work can be approved by the Director depending on the demands of the job.
