Title: Volunteer Coordinator (Resale, Warehouse, Donation Center)

Position Impact on Organizational Mission:
The Volunteer Trainer/liaison uses his/her skills in developing and retaining a strong core of volunteers who work in MAM’s Resale Store and Donation Center. The revenue generated is used to support MAM’s Programs to build a stronger workforce, financially stable families, and through effective volunteer stewardship, healthy and supportive communities.
Responsibilities:
Manages the placement, onboarding, training, stewardship, and support of volunteers assigned to the store
Match volunteers to assignments that consider a volunteer’s abilities and talents, maximizing the volunteer’s and Resale Store’s success
Conduct tours of the Resale Store, Warehouse, and Donation Center to cultivate interest among groups
Lead orientation and onboarding sessions for those placed in job assignments.
Retain current volunteers and keep them engaged; re-engage as necessary if demand shifts to another department.
Assist in Developing a volunteer appreciation and recognition program to engage and retain volunteers
Duties:
Work with VP of Store Operations and warehouse to identify areas where volunteers are needed and communicate such needs to the volunteer director.
Conduct MAM’s general volunteer onboarding and orientation of volunteers, providing background/history of the organization, reviewing safety, policies, and procedures for those placed in job assignments
Conduct job specific training to the volunteer’s assignment in the store (i.e., cashiering, pricing, sorting)
Coordinate and supervise one-time events and opportunities to participate in special projects needed in the store (i.e., painting, organizing, stocking, etc.)
Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures
Ability to perform other duties as assigned
Attend organization wide staff meetings and departmental meetings as necessary

Working Conditions/ Work Environment:
Will work on-site up to 90% of time each week for recruitment, onboarding, and training of volunteers in the Resale Store/Warehouse, in addition to face-to-face volunteer event coordination
Will be required to work some evenings and weekends, all of which will be planned
The primary work location is a climate-controlled indoor store/warehouse
Flexibility for travel related to job requirements
Provide own reliable transportation with proof of valid driver’s license and TX minimum requirements of auto insurance
