Position Title: Pathways for Young Adults Program Coordinator

Program Reports to: Pathways for Young Adults Program Senior Coordinator

Employment Status: Full-time, Exempt

Impact Statement: The Young Adults Program Coordinator ensures that clients have the necessary tools to obtain and keep employment by providing one-on-one job coaching, job readiness workshops, and work-related support. The coordinator is the primary contact person for all young adults between the ages of 16-24 employment services clients.


• Conducts orientation and enrollment activities for all new participants • Recruits eligible participants for the Program

• Establishes and develops new relationships/maintains existing partnerships with other service providers in the community • Processes requests for job-search-related financial assistance. • Identifies and enrolls participants for Vocational Training Programs.

• Ensures that all data is entered in ETO in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner • Attends meetings, staff events, and other MAM functions. • Conducts Orientation and Assessment for all new participants daily.

• Provides one-on-one job coaching and emotional support and establish rapport and trust with participants.

• Offers Job Readiness Training at various locations as scheduled, including in schools, Community Partners, etc.

• Identifies age-appropriate training and opportunities for the participants.

• Assists participants explore career options, scholarships, and financial aid opportunities, including submitting college applications.

• Ensures that all newly enrolled participants: meet with a job coach at least once before accessing other program services.

• Makes daily commitments to MAM resources through issuing vouchers or using an agency credit card to pay for job search-related financial assistance.

• Recruits qualified participants for vocational training and other learning opportunities and follows up with them to ensure attendance and that homework and other assignments are completed.

• Tracks and documents that each participant completes all program requirements before graduation.

• Conducts presentations about the program independently.

• Works without intensive supervision, exercises autonomy in daily work content, and uses discretion in making day-to-day decisions on the allocation of volunteer resources and on handling challenging client situations. 2

• Follows up with participants regularly and ensures that participants’ efforts and client outcomes are accurately recorded in the ETO database on time.

• Demonstrated ability to work with young adults from all social classes and treat them with dignity, respect, and inclusion.

• Strong understanding of the hiring process, including hands-on experience in recruiting, interviewing, screening, OR assisting and supporting young adults.

• Ability to command the respect of volunteers and to involve, motivate and recognize them in program activities. • Strong interpersonal skills at both the individual and group level; precisely, the ability to listen empathetically to participants and to suggest corrective courses of action persuasively; and the ability to create and deliver presentations before groups of participants and volunteers.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in an environment with no support staff.

• 2 years of experience working with young adults, including schools, non-profits, and workforce development programs.

• Self-sufficient in Office 365 and other common applications.

• Ability to do presentations in public.

• Ability to teach workshops to young adults

• English fluency (read, write, speak, and understand)

• Reliable smartphones are used to record time and attendance remotely when needed. Work Conditions/Work Environment: The primary work location is a climate-controlled indoor office environment. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Remote Work

• Required to work on-site 60% or more time each week at MAM for face-to-face client meeting, in person orientations, job readiness workshops, and work support services.

•May work remotely up to 40% of the time each week for virtual coaching, job readiness workshops, providing intensive follow-ups and data entry on the ETO database.
