Memorial Assistance Ministries (MAM) is a non-profit organization serving the Houston Community by providing a variety of educational and developmental programs to help people meet their needs for employment, money, management, mental health, literacy, and financial assistance.
The Community Relations Manager helps to enhance and expand MAM’s programmatic impact and outreach through the cultivation and stewardship of meaningful relationships and partnerships. This role also ensures that MAM responds effectively and efficiently to community needs following disasters by leveraging community relationships and resources. Responsibilities:
Assists to define partnership scopes and objectives
Coordinates the memorandum of understanding (MOU) process between MAM and partners, working with both sides to include outputs, outcomes, costs, deliverables, responsibilities, etc.
Create and maintain comprehensive relationship documentation that includes roles, responsibilities, benchmarks/due dates, etc.
Track project performance to be informed about progress and to coordinate reporting
Develop spreadsheets, presentations and process charts to document needs or demonstrate plans while working on relationship management
Use and continually develop leadership skills
Seeks out, identifies, and shares quality improvement issues and opportunities for improvement within assigned projects
To be successful, all candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or similar with a proven work history of at least three years in project management, marketing, community relations, communications, or sales. Additionally, disaster management experience is desired because this position will launch disaster responses and transition it within our programs to serve our community in their time of need. We prefer applicants with non-profit experience and significant knowledge of resources, organizations, programs, and family-serving systems in the Houston area. They must be able to think analytically and utilize their proficiency in MS Office, TEAMS, database analytics, and social media to create, demonstrate, research, coach, and train the stakeholders on launched initiatives.
All applying candidates must have reliable transportation, insurance, and a valid drivers license to commute between the MAM office(s) and satellite locations. This hybrid position will work at least 60% of the time in our office space or commuting to meetings within the Houston area to build meaningful relationships.
